Not too long ago he wrote a new set of tunes in preparation for realizing his dream of recording an instrumental jazz trio album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can hear the outstanding results on <a href=\"https:\/\/adamlevy.bandcamp.com\/album\/spry-2\"><em>Spry<\/em><\/a>, available on <a href=\"https:\/\/adamlevy.bandcamp.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/adamlevy.bandcamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Levy\u2019s Bandcamp page<\/a>, with bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Joey Baron. On the album, Levy primarily plays the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mmlNhUkVlg4\">1964 Gibson ES-335<\/a> that has been his faithful companion for many years. But for a couple of the tracks he uses a new acquisition\u2014his Collings DS2HA SB, a 12-fret rosewood dreadnought with a sunburst-finished Adirondack top\u2014and it shines in this context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this Sessions video, Levy, with the Collings at hand, teaches how to play one of his new compositions. As shown below in notation, \u201cSidewalk Chalk\u201d is a lovely waltz with a beautiful set of chord changes.
